Glazing

A dry self-draining glazing system is used. The window frames are rebated to accept double glazed units of 24mm. This gives the optimum combination of noise insulation and heat retention. We do not supply the glass however it is recommended that double glazed units be specified with a bronze coloured spacer.

Security Hardware

Saracen High Security friction hinges are fitted to all opening sashes. These hinges are produced from stainless steel to provide greater resistance to deformation when the window is under attack. When the sash is open they provide easy access to the outer surfaces of the glass allowing easy cleaning from the inside of the building. The hinges allow variable opening of the sash to give complete control of ventilation.

The Saracen High Security Shoot Bolt locking system is fitted to all opening sashes. This incorporates a central Dead latch and adjustable Shoot Bolts operated by the turn of a handle. Night vent position attainable. When fitted in conjunction with the Saracen High Security friction stay the combined locking and strength properties of the 2 products offer an almost impregnable line of defence. Handles are Gold effect finish s standard, with 7 colours available.

Weatherseals

All rebates for opening sashes doors and entrance frames are fitted with high-performance weather-seals. The seals are secured into a groove in the frame and sash rebates and are unaffected by paint or stains. Supplied in black finish as standard.

Standard Paint Finish

Factory applied Sadolin WOP016 Primer and Sikkens Rubol WF 370 Topcoat. High build waterborne and spray applied. As standard the frames are supplied primed only.

Sikkens waterborne topcoats are manufactured using alkyd and acrylic binding agents. The alkyd content ensures good lasting adhesion while the acrylic content ensures excellent durability and lasting elasticity. The timber can be easily kept clean by regularly washing down with warm water and soft cloth. Using one or two coats of the original finish at intervals of 3 years or more can restore weathered surfaces.
